Rent Ferrari at Rome Airport

I am back in the market for another F car, caught between the 458 and the F12. Leaning closer to the F12 though. Spoke with my local dealer (autogallery) and apparently it is a 2 year wait to order the F12? I see quite a few on James Edition for sale abroad, are people not purchasing these and importing into the states?
